Erin Leary

Erin has always had a strong desire to help others. Initially, she set out to become a journalist, majoring in Journalism at Colorado State University. However, Erin felt a calling to make an impact on others in a more profound way, and ultimately decided to pursue a career in law. She attended the Denver Paralegal Institute after graduating from college, and after graduation she moved from Colorado to Arkansas, where her future husband would be attending law school.

During her first year in Arkansas, she worked as a deputy court clerk at the Fayetteville Municipal Court working in the court's civil and small claims division. She then decided to enroll at the University of Arkansas School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1984. After passing the Arkansas bar exam, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska and joined her father’s and grandfather’s law firm, Leary & Leary. In 1986 she opened her own firm, Erin Leary Law, where she practiced law for 23 years.

In 2000, she and her husband took the Arizona bar exam and became licensed there. Erin eventually relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona with her late husband, Gary Wence, where they opened the law firm of Leary & Wence, PC in 2009. The firm's areas of concentration include probate, estate planning, and civil litigation. With extensive experience in probate law and litigation, Erin can help you with any probate matters that bring you to Leary & Wence, PC.
